A journey with cancer is not an easy one, however with the love & support of family and friends makes it so much easier to cope x

Lynn Culver

Bringing flowers to a loved one when they have been diagnosed is such a lovely gesture however, novels, puzzle books, and magazines

are a great idea - as many hours will be spent in hospital waiting rooms. Lynn Culver x lynn@pinkwishes.co.uk

Often when diagnosed people want to start an organic diet (I know I did) organic food can be expensive - a gift card for a supermarket

with a good organic range would be a good Idea. Steve Culver

When my sister was  diagnosed with cancer aged just 15 it came as a real shock not to her but to myself and my family. At first I think we wanted to avoid the situation and somewhat hide away. This obviously wasn't going to work I was the older sister and had to be strong

not only for my mum but for my siblings and sister also. It was her fighting the illness right!? Don't be afraid, any questions ask them, if you

want to cry, cry. Its not all about the negatives, there are positives too. A walk in the park, a family trip to the beach, fish and chips. Do your

best to carry on as normal. Get angry if you need to. Most important of all, fight the illness as best you can together. Make the most of the support groups out there. Write a diary if it helps, read books etc. Don't ever feel alone. If I can be of any help or offer future advice or experiences please feel free to contact me via Pink Wishes. Love Kirsty Meredith xxxx

The thing I have found to have helped is to let the person who's been diagnosed carry on as normal as possible. If you try to wrap them up

in cotton wool like we all would want to do it can cause extra tension instead of relaxing atmosphere.

Leave pain meds everywhere you go car, parents house, coat pockets, handbags. However make sure you keep them safe and out of

reach of children.

Sleep when ever you can your sleep Patton will be up side down so when you an sleep sleep don't worry if its mid day or tea time these

days you can do as much at 3 am as you can at 3pm but without the hassle & bustle.

When you find you as the partner /loved one are having a bad time of things and you don't have anyone to talk to go online and chat to

anyone most people will let you rant at them. John Anderson

Offering lifts to hospital appointments can be a real help Sue Wright

Laughter and lots of it and a slice of normality every so often!!! Kevin Mahoney
